LONDON: Luther Pendragon has brought on former Ketchum UK CEO Avril Lee as director as it seeks to expand its health offering.
Lee, who has acted on a consultancy basis at the firm since stepping down from her previous job last spring, is starting at Luther Pendragon Monday.
In the newly created position, Lee will work closely with MD Simon Whale to oversee the agency's healthcare clients, as well as advising clients in other sectors.
“We have grown our healthcare client base significantly in recent times, and we want this to continue,” Whale said. “[Lee's] considerable health experience will help us do that, but there's a wider spectrum of clients for her to get involved with too.”
Lee became UK CEO of Ketchum in 2011. She stepped down from the role in April and was replaced by David Gallagher, Ketchum's Europe CEO and UK chairman.
In February, Luther Pendragon told healthcare clients it was no longer working with Philip Morris after a number of them questioned its work with the tobacco company. The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry had dropped the agency in December after learning of the relationship.
