LONDON: We Are Social has bolstered its senior team in London with a new operations director, head of technology, and senior creative.

In the newly created role of operations director, Lucy Doubleday will focus on the commercial and logistical aspects of the agency, working closely with We Are Social MD Jim Coleman.

Doubleday joins from digital production company SpecialMoves, where she was interim managing director. Her previous role was business director at ad agency Dare, where she ran accounts for Sony UK, the Football Association, and Reebok.

As head of creative technology, another newly created role, Matt Payne will manage digital content creation for clients with a team of eight. Formerly head of technology at JWT, Payne worked for clients such as Shell, HSBC, Nestlé, and Johnson & Johnson.

We Are Social has also hired Nick Hearne as a senior creative. He joins from creative and digital agency U-Dox, where he was creative lead and worked with We Are Social and former OgilvyOne creative directors James Nester and Graham Jenks on the Cannes and PRWeek award-winning Gnome Experiment campaign.

“We Are Social has grown quickly since inception, and this year is no different as we transition from a smaller agency to a large, more established one,” Coleman said. “[Doubleday's] appointment is a direct reflection of this change. She'll be instrumental in helping the London office run smoothly, working closely with me and other members of the senior team, bringing a wealth of agency-side managerial experience.”

“With our creative technology department rapidly expanding and producing some really exciting work, we felt someone of [Payne]'s caliber would be the perfect fit to lead the team,” he added. “Likewise, our creative team is producing some amazing work and is increasingly in demand from our growing client base. [Hearne]'s portfolio is outstanding, and his proven creative talent will be a huge asset to We Are Social.”
