Habits: Tracy Cioffi, VP of marketing, See's Candies

Never take a job if the leader can't explain where they are headed. If there is no vision and plan, there is no win.

Morning ritual
It starts with handing over my little man to the nanny. I then make a smoothie and read Google Alerts about See's Candies and [parent company] Berkshire Hathaway. I check my BlackBerry, then it's off to my favorite coffee spot, Two Guns, before hitting the office.

Biggest surprise on your iPhone/iPod
The mix of music on my iPod shows my personality, from  Michael Jackson, Jay Z, and Ben Harper to Pink.

Daily required reading
I read The Wall Street Journal and NRF.com daily. In regards to See's, I read all customer comments and feedback first thing in the morning. Based on what our customers are saying, I may need to change course for the day.

Guilty TV pleasure
I have a serious obsession with the Real Housewives franchise. I love them all. Thankfully, so does my husband.

Best career advice
Never take a job if the leader can't explain where they are headed. If there is no vision and plan, there is no win.

First PR job
My first job in the marketing arena was building a website for a tech company.

First website or app checked in the morning
Gmail for my Google Alerts.

Most regrettable career moment
I don't tend to have regrets, just lessons. But if I had to choose, I would say I stayed too long at one company. It does not look lengthy in years but I knew we weren't going to win, so I should have left earlier.

Most distinct aspect of your personal office
A very large portrait of Mary See, our founder and matriarch. I feel she is watching over us as we polish our gem, respecting the 92-year heritage of See's, but moving us into today's world is a fun challenge. I always look to Mary to make sure we are doing her right. It is  an honor to lead this brand.

Proudest career achievement
I have enjoyed all of the chapters, but right now is pretty cool. I have built an incredible team. They are good people, talented, smart, and fun.

Ideal day off
Spending the day down at the beach with my boys – husband, son, and two bulldogs – with a coffee in hand, of course.
