Former AP reporter Lewis moves to McGuireWoods

RICHMOND, VA: Law firm McGuireWoods has hired former Associated Press reporter Bob Lewis as its senior manager for media relations, effective November 11.

Lewis was reportedly fired by the AP after an erroneous report about then-Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. He had served as the AP's state capitol correspondent for Virginia since 2000 and held other positions for the media service in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky during a 35-year career in journalism.

At McGuireWoods, he will lead the communications group, implementing internal and external media strategies to support its team of more than 900 lawyers in 19 offices around the world, as well as its McGuireWoods Consulting public affairs group, the firm said in a statement.
