LONDON: A public-private alliance is seeking an agency to help it convince organizations in developing countries to make the transition from cash to electronic payments.
The Better Than Cash Alliance is a global initiative funded by philanthropic bodies including the Ford Foundation and USAID, as well as payment companies MasterCard and Visa.
The alliance's secretariat, the UN Capital Development Fund, has issued an RFP for PR services.
Its key goal is to gather commitments from 20 organizations such as governments, development bodies, and companies to switch their payments to individuals from cash to digital.
The alliance believes this will advance financial inclusion among the world's poor, help people build savings, and provide a more efficient, transparent, and often safer means of disbursing payments.
It is seeking an agency with a global presence for the work, which will run from next February to December 2015.
Agencies must have a strong track record of successfully dealing with leading media in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
