Baer named PBS vice chair

Donald Baer, worldwide chair and CEO of Burson-Marsteller, was elected general vice chair of the board of PBS last week following the network's first board of directors meeting for FY 2014.

ARLINGTON, VA: Donald Baer, worldwide chair and CEO of Burson-Marsteller, was elected general vice chair of the board of PBS last week following the network's first board of directors meeting for FY 2014.

Malcolm Brett, GM of WHA-TV/Wisconsin Public Television, was elected professional vice chair. Geoffrey Sands, director at McKinsey & Co., was reelected chair of the board. Ernest Bromley, chairman and CEO of Bromley Communications, was appointed to a second term as general director.

Baer was named to the top role at Burson when Mark Penn joined Microsoft in July 2012. He joined the WPP Group agency four years earlier after serving as EVP for strategy and development at Discovery Communications.
