NEW YORK: Fitness technology company Fitbug has selected Frank PR USA to handle launch and consumer engagement efforts for its Fitbug Orb and KiK digital coach system in the US.
The UK-based company, which hired Frank PR in October after talking to several other firms, selected the agency because of its consumer and tech experience, said Paul Landau, CEO and founder of Fitbug.
He added that he knew the Frank PR team in London and that it is an “extremely established agency.”
Before Frank PR, the company worked with Boston-based Savoir Media on project work. Landau said Frank is the first consumer-focused firm the brand has brought on in the US.
With a team of four staffers on the account, Frank PR is working to raise awareness of the Fitbug Orb among lifestyle and fitness media, as well as health-related consumer technology communities, said Frank PR USA MD Ian Twinn. The firm will also work on events to promote the product.
Twinn said the agency is focused on reaching wider audiences about the health benefits of wearable technology and getting the word out about Fitbug's affordable products.
Frank PR will also work on holiday and New Year's resolution initiatives for the brand in coming months.
In addition to launching the fitness tracker, Frank is handling issues management and corporate communications for the company, including Fitbug's trademark infringement case against Fitbit.
The contract will initially run for four months, said Landau, but it expects to have a longer relationship with Frank PR USA.
Budget information for the business was not disclosed.
