NEW YORK: Aspen Insurance has hired AIG's Doug Menelly as SVP, marketing director.
He will be based in New York. A spokesperson from Aspen Insurance was not immediately available to comment on Menelly's new role.
Menelly previously served as global communications director, financial lines at AIG since 2011. Kristen Ollila, former manager of product marketing communications and marketing services, has succeeded him in this position.
AIG declined to comment on Menelly's departure.
Prior to joining AIG, Menelly served in VP roles at several companies including Chinese electronics company SinoHub, supply chain management services firm Willex Industrial, and financial services firm Marsh & McLennan, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously co-founded Exband Systems, a wireless software firm.
Menelly's appointment follows a series of recent senior hires at Aspen Insurance, including Ann Haugh as global chief underwriting and operating officer earlier this month. The company also appointed Bob Patten and Robert Rheel as co-heads of the company's global property and casualty business.
In September, AIG reorganized its corporate marketing department and appointed Goldman Sachs veteran David May as its corporate CMO.
