NEW YORK: Ogilvy Public Relations has appointed former Digitas LBI executive April Scott as EVP and New York group director of Social@Ogilvy.
Scott, previously director counsel of social and digital engagement at Digitas LBI in Paris and London, is reporting to Jennifer Scott, who was named MD of Ogilvy PR's New York office at the end of last month.
In addition to leading the firm's Social@Ogilvy cross-discipline social media practice in New York, Scott will manage accounts, business development, and social and digital marketing strategy.
During her time at Digitas, she oversaw global branding and marketing strategies and provided digital and social counsel for clients around the world.
Before Digitas, Scott served as executive director of social media, marketing, and PR at Gaylord Entertainment, which was bought by Marriott International last fall. She also held positions at Tres Creative and Vanderbilt University.
Last month, global Social@Ogilvy MD John Bell left Ogilvy after a 13-year stint to take on the role of VP of enterprise digital marketing at Travelers Insurance.
Along with Scott, Ogilvy has brought on Lindsay Garrison to serve as SVP of brand marketing, leading the LG Electronics account in the US. She previously served as a VP at Edelman in New York and Atlanta in the firm's consumer marketing practice, where she worked with clients such as Heinz, Mondelez International, Unilever's Dove, eBay, and Starbucks.
Ogilvy also appointed Kate Simpson, previously an account supervisor at MWW, and Mary Salvaggio, formerly an account supervisor at DKC, as account directors in the agency's New York brand marketing practice. Simpson will work on the firm's American Express account, and Salvaggio will support the LG Electronics business.
