LONDON: Ogilvy & Mather has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Belgium-based social media marketing agency Social Lab.
The deal is part of WPP Group's plan to expand its services in key markets and sectors and strengthen its online, social, and mobile communications offerings.
WPP's businesses in Belgium, including associates, have revenues of about $150 million and 600 staffers.
Social Lab, which was founded in 2010, has a team of 50 across Belgium, France, and Amsterdam. The agency's clients include Ikea, Club Med, Nespresso, L'Oréal, Oasis.
