BELTSVILLE, MD: Vocus has launched the Winter 2014 version of its PR suite, which it says will make the platform faster and easier to navigate.
“This is a full system providing communications professionals with a media database where they can do research on the people they want to establish relationships with. It also enables them to manage how effectively they've been doing PR and manage relationships with journalists,” said You Mon Tsang, the company's SVP of products. “This is a completely redesigned suite; we've totally refreshed the user interface.”
This release introduces updates and enhancements requested by the suite's 8,000 users over the past year, with additional improvements to streamline the user experience. New features include an updated user experience, broadcast editing, advanced media, outlet results filtering, and the ability to edit scheduled distributions. Users can also host a newsroom on the suite, which also provides a platform to manage press releases.
The suite's price ranges from $4,000 to $300,000 per year and can be purchased through the Vocus website.
The Vocus PR Suite has been on the market since 1997, and the company implements three enhancements on average each year.
In June, the company created security updates for its PRWeb press release-distribution service months after it published a release about a fake Google acquisition.
Vocus reported revenue of $46.6 million in the third quarter of 2013, up 3% from the year prior, as well as a $3.9 million net loss.
