PARIS: Media relations agency PressKing has launched a service as part of its online management platform that enables companies to design their own press rooms.
“PressKing has had a basic customized press room service available since April, but we decided to enhance it when we realized press rooms could be a great way for companies to get in touch with journalists who do not like to use a traditional press release service,” said Bertrand Besse, PressKing's CEO.
The customized press room service will help companies allocate information a journalist needs, including press releases, articles, logos, visuals, and director biographies. It is accessible via the Web and mobile and tablet devices.
“A press room is often the lame duck of a website; people think they are only used by big companies, and smaller companies may not have the means or resources to develop one,” said Besse. “But a press room is important to build credibility with the public; developing a press room through a third party like us makes this possible for anyone.”
Three price plans are available for the press room service. A free plan enables users to add five media files and one contract, while a premium plan for $18.90 a month allows them to add unlimited content to a press room. An enterprise plan that goes for $99.90 per month enables users to add unlimited content and other features, including statistics, along with the ability to convert the press room to a white label, meaning a company can remove mentions of PressKing and the domain can be redirected. The enterprise plan also has a free, 30-day trial period.
Until now, PressKing has solely been a press-release-distribution service. Since launching in 2010, the company has facilitated the publication of 30,000 press releases by 20,000 companies.
PressKing plans to add a media-mentoring tool to its services in summer 2014.
