Three firms aid Ticketmaster-Live Nation merger

LOS ANGELES: Brunswick Group and Brainerd Communications are aiding Live Nation while The Abernathy MacGregor Group is working with Ticketmaster on the $2.5 billion dollar proposed merger between the live entertainment companies. Brunswick Group declined to comment on the nature of the work; Abernathy MacGregor Group would only confirm the relationship. Brainerd did not respond to a call for comment. There has been opposition to the merger from government officials, artists, such as Bruce Springsteen, and the public. The US Department of Justice has opened an investigationinto whether the merger violates antitrust regulation. According to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the companies would control 80% of concert ticket sales.
