Permission-based food firm launches in Houston

HOUSTON, TX: Food and beverage PR firm FoodSmart Communications launched February 23 with an "opt-in" model that allows media to determine if they want to receive news from clients. Jeff Davis, principal and founder of the Houston, TX-based consultancy, said that he has two clients although he could not disclose names. As of the launch date, Davis said 165 members of the media had opted to receive news from FoodSmart clients.
