Their firm, CoeurIdeas, will offer a range of services, including social media outreach, media relations, and branded events. Thompson was most recently account director at boutique firm Punch Communications, and Davis was an associate editor at Lifestyle Ontario and Lifestyle Maritimes. The two had met at National Public Relations several years ago, and recently decided the economic situation proved a relevant time to launch their own firm.
“I have 12 years of experience, but my billing rate is a fraction of what a client would pay at an agency. We want to make a difference in our work rather than just being about the all mighty dollar,” Thompson told PRWeek.
So far, CoeurIdeas has signed on one client: UOMO Media, a Toronto-based multi-channel entertainment company.
