NEW YORK: Jody Miller, a 25-year veteran of entertainment PR, is retiring and closing her agency, JLM PR, effective August 2009. Miller represented clients including Iggy Pop, Al Green, John Mellencamp, the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, and Russell Simmons and his nonprofit and for-profit properties.

"This has been an incredible 25 years, filled with some wonderful people and experiences," Miller said in a statement released March 24. "It's fascinating to look back and acknowledge how differently things were done when I was coming up and how the media landscape has so changed."

Of the three others on the JLM PR staff, Pam Workman will be starting her own firm, while Pamela Lipshitz and Janice Torres will work as independent contractors. Some of the current JLM PR clients will continue on with former staffers. Miller will consult her previous clients and staff members on a case-by-case basis over the next several months.
