Sun-Times taps Sard Verbinnen for bankruptcy filing

CHICAGO: Sun-Times Media Group, which owns the Chicago Sun-Times, is working with Sard Verbinnen on communications efforts surrounding its March 31 filing for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11.

CHICAGO: Sun-Times Media Group, which owns the Chicago Sun-Times, is working with Sard Verbinnen & Co. on communications efforts surrounding its March 31 filing for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11.

“We have extensive outreach efforts to our customers – our readers and advertisers – through multiple channels to assure them that it is business as usual at Sun-Times Media Group and that we are committed to working through this process quickly and effectively," Tammy Chase, director of corporate communications at Sun-Times Media Group, said via e-mail.

The company has said that its newspapers and online sites will continue to operate as usual.

According to a filing, the company is also working with Rothschild Inc. as its financial adviser and Huron Consulting Group as its restructuring adviser. Kirkland & Ellis is providing legal counsel.
