NEW YORK: Imperial Brands chose Cramer-Krasselt Public Relations (CKPR) as AOR for its Sobieski Vodka brand.

The firm will handle media relations, social media engagement, guerilla marketing, events and promotions with its New York office leading the account, according to the firm.

“Our honest, back-to-basics approach has been quickly embraced by consumers tired of overpriced, overhyped spirits—especially during these difficult economic times when, now more than ever, people are seeking a premium vodka that is affordable,” Timo Sutinen, VP of marketing and business Development, Imperial Brands, said in a statement.

The selection follows a competitive review. The incumbent on the account, Hanna Lee Communications, earned a PRWeek Honorable Mention in the “Consumer Launch Campaign of the Year” this year. The firm was first tapped as AOR in 2007, and helped launch the Polish vodka brand into the US market, according to Hanna Lee, president of the eponymous agency. Lee said the firm participated in the pitch, but noted, "we are a five people agency, and [the account] is moving on to a 500-person agency.”

Imperial Brands is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and is a US subsidiary of Belvédère S.A
