AUSTIN, TX: Strategic Oxygen, a marketing intelligence company, has introduced the Financial Services Information Network Engrama (INE), a tool that provides research and analysis of what drives the "mass affluent investors" in their decision-making.

In February 2009, the company interviewed more than 2,500 investors with assets from $100,000 to more than $1.5 million, gathering information about demographics, investment style, and other attributes. The information is fed into a software interface that gathers data for marketers and helps to determine influencers. For example, the initial research found that personal interactions with an adviser have more impact on those investors with under $1 million that those with more than that amount.

Research is ongoing and, initially, will focus on personal investment products in the US.
