SAN FRANCISCO: MetLife has tapped Landis Communications as AOR* for several of its prominent brands, according to industry sources familiar with the deal. The six-figure account was awarded following a competitive bid.
The New York-based insurance company has enlisted Landis to oversee the national PR efforts for MetLife Auto & Home, MetLife Bank, and MetLife Technology & Operations. Representatives at both MetLife and Landis declined comment.
The organization focused on midsized California firms in its search because its business strategy includes increasing its presence on the West Coast, according to the source. Landis will also handle media relations, digital outreach, and thought leadership opportunities for the brand.
MetLife previously worked with a small agency based on the East Coast that focused on local coverage, according to another source familiar with the company.
*UPDATE: Landis Communications has since clarified that while the agency will lead the PR efforts for MetLife Auto & Home, MetLife Bank, and MetLife Technology & Operations, it has not been named AOR.
