LOS ANGELES: Ubisoft, producer and publisher of video games and interactive entertainment products, chose Cohn & Wolfe as its first US AOR this month. The agency is focusing on consumer outreach for the company's gaming titles and corporate communications assistance.
The company searched for an AOR as part of its strategy to streamline its media outreach, according to Michael Beadle, senior PR manager at Ubisoft.
"One of the things we found in having tested the waters with a few different folks is that having one agency do all of [the communications work] would really help, and bring it all together under the same roof," he said, declining to name other agencies that it previously worked with. Beadle added that C&W will also work on celebrity-focused efforts and outreach to college students.
The agency previously worked with Ubisoft on the launch of several video game titles and a consumer awareness campaign for Frag Dolls, an all-female competitive gaming team, last year. The account will be managed by C&W's Los Angeles office.
Ubisoft selected the agency after a two-round RFP process that included six firms and three finalists. Work on the year-long account, which has an undisclosed budget, began April 1.
