Principal Robert Chandler is certain that 2009 will be a growth year, as the healthcare firm ramps up its presence in DC and Europe.
He notes that because CCA is well diversified internally through its eight business divisions, it will continue to grow. Nearly 50% of the clients have business with more than one division, he says.
"I'm pretty confident this will be a growth year," he says, noting that the firm keeps making a significant amount of new hires and that there is a great opportunity for PR as healthcare reform moves forward.
The firm had 212 staffers in 2008, up 2.5% over 2007. Senior hires include Robin Pomeranz, creative director of ‘nition design, and Jeff Smith, MD of the UK office. Gail Cohen, a senior counselor, left the firm.
The firm is preparing for growth in DC, China, Brazil, India, and Europe – Turkey, specifically, says Chandler.
The firm launched four new business units in 2008, including Allidura, a health and wellness firm; Brandtectonics EU, a market access agency based in Europe; Chandler Chicco Productions, an experiential film division; and Studio C3, a media coaching group.
Chandler notes that the firm's work with clinical trial support is growing.
Expanded accounts include Danone, Nutricia, and Novartis. Of new accounts, 65% were across three or more countries.
The firm declined to provide revenue figures, but said that US and global revenue fell between $50 million and $100 million.
