WASHINGTON: The Mexican Tourism Board hired Qorvis Communications to develop and implement a social media plan, according to a federal filing. The firm will use strategic online communications, new media relations, grassroots programs, and Web support to increase the country's online profile. It will also develop video content, blogger relations, social media releases, a virtual consulate, and a mobile phone application in both Spanish and English. Work for the one-year contract, which has a monthly budget of $27,500, ends April 31, 2010.
