Hospira, a pharmaceutical company which develops generic injectable drugs, launched an awareness effort May 5 about generic biologic drugs, reports The Wall Street Journal.
The company added a running clock to its Web site, tallying the billions of dollars Americans spend each year on biologic drugs.
The site also includes educational and cost-saving information about biogenerics and a link to send a message to leaders in Congress urging them to support a bill that would allow the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve generic versions of biologic drugs.
