ATLANTA: James Andrews, former VP and director of interactive at Ketchum, has left the agency to launch Everywhere, a social media-focused practice.
Andrews launched the Atlanta-based company last week. Its initial clients include Delta, actress Jane Fonda, and hip-hop artist and producer Jermaine Dupri, according to a statement from the company. Danica Kombol, former VP and director of business development at Ketchum, and Tamara Knetchel, formerly SVP for operations at Radio One have also joined the firm as partners, according to the statement.
Andrews gained unwanted attention in January when he Tweeted, while visiting Ketchum client FedEx, that its hometown of Memphis was “one of those towns where I scratch my head and say, ‘I would die if I had to live here.'” After a FedEx employee wrote a letter to the leadership of both FedEx and Ketchum, both companies called the Tweet “a lapse in judgment.” Ketchum apologized to FedEx, and Andrews posted an apology on his blog.
