"We've had great times on the Strip... but all these different communities had popped up all over LA. We had an identification crisis on the Strip trying to find ourselves again," said Nic Adler, owner of The Roxy Theatre (@TheRoxy), and executive on the board of the SSBA. "It seems that social media has us all talking to each other and working with each other."
Other businesses involved include The Comedy Store (@TheComedyStore), The Viper Room (@TheViperRoom), and House of Blues (@HOBSunset).
While the businesses are spreading the word about the event via promo and scavenger hunt clues for prizes on their Twitter feeds, the SSBA is working with SJ Communications, SSBA's AOR since May, on targeting traditional media outlets and bloggers, including local Los Angeles publications, and Daily Candy and Urban Daddy, said Krysty O'Quinn Ronchetti, owner of SJ Communications.
"Several of the businesses have huge followers on Twitter and this is a fun way to thank them for their patronage and to continue to utilize social media technology to connect directly with their customers," she added in a subsequent e-mail to PRWeek. "This Tweet Crawl is just a fun way to let consumers know about the different Twitter communities available for them to follow along The Sunset Strip."
