Salzman, who started at Euro RSCG on August 10, was also given responsibility for the Euro RSCG Worldwide corporate brand. There are no plans to fill the CEO position, she said.
Gary Stockman, CEO of Porter Novelli, confirmed August 7 that Salzman, the firm's CMO, was leaving to rejoin Euro RSCG. Salzman previously worked for Euro RSCG Worldwide from 2001 until 2004 as the chief strategy officer before leaving for positions with JWT Worldwide and Porter Novelli.
“I had this epiphany at some point in the spring that I wanted to go back on the line and run a business,” said Salzman. "I very much wanted to be part of a thoroughly integrated opportunity."
Euro RSCG's pharmaceutical, consumer, and business-to-business practices report to Salzman. She noted that while the firm has a digital group, she is tasked with expanding digital and social media for each of the three practices.
“That's the part of the job that's a little bit different than what Lisa Sepulveda was doing,” Salzman added. She reports to Donna Murphy, worldwide managing partner at Euro RSCG, for the PR brand, and David Jones, global CEO at Euro RSCG, for the Euro RSCG corporate brand.
Murphy, who worked with Salzman while she was Euro RSCG chief strategy officer, noted that firm plans to make much more of an investment in digital and social media and expand the digital group.
