Relations PR's four-person staff will be merged into that of FWV, which opened a new Tampa office in March to support additions to its Florida client base. The Relations PR brand will be discontinued, according to Rick French, CEO of FWV.
Robin Adkins Vosler, Relations PR founder and CEO, will assume the number two position of group account director at FWV's Tampa office, where she will report to Jack Glasure, EVP and principal. The office will have 10 employees, plus a number of independent contractors, after the combination.
French told PRWeek that no layoffs will occur as a result of the acquisition, and that the agency expects to grow its staff in the Tampa market.
French added that the firm's personnel made it appealing for acquisition, as did its client base in the travel and tourism verticals.
“While Florida is beaten down right now by the recession, it will bounce back,” he said. “And real estate and development is a clear driver of the Florida economy, and that's one of the things that will eventually lead it back.”
French declined to specify an acquisition price or Relations PR's pre-acquisition revenues. He did say that he expects the combined Tampa office to have more than $1 million in fee billings by the end of this year.
