Loeb will be leading a team focused on risk management, litigation, and crisis and issues strategy and communication. His past clients have included Allstate, Enron, Dow Chemical, and HSBC.
"I thought the combination of the [Edelman] brand, the diverse skill set of the professionals that are a part of this group, and the climate in which we live - the zeitgeist of constant crisis - made it an opportunity that was outstanding for me personally and professionally," Loeb told PRWeek. He went on to to say that his aspirations, as well as those of the firm, are to "expand the crisis and issues practice to an enterprise risk-based offering."
Loeb spent nearly five years with FD, serving as an MD with the firm.
According to FD's MD Evan Goetz, the firm has "no specific replacement or search" underway to fill Loeb's vacated position in the special situations group. The firm will rely on its "deep bench of executives" and other staff members.
Prior to FD, Loeb spent five years with Hill & Knowlton as US litigation practice director and member of the global crisis team.
