A few months ago, Crosby-Volmer competed with three other firms to win what was initially presented as a project-based assignment and turned into a more permanent role, explained Charmaine Easie-Samuels, director of PR for Hampton Hotels. It won, replacing Daly Gray Public Relations as the brand aims to ramp up its global PR and social media efforts among its franchises and trade outlets to reflect international growth.
"The brand is growing internationally, so we needed an agency to support that on a social media level and with our trade media as well," said Easie-Samuels. "Crosby-Volmer fit that criteria."
According to Chris Daly, SVP at Daly Gray, the agency had previously compiled a bid for the new year upon the brand's request. Regarding the news, he commented, "We've worked with Hilton corporate and a number of the brands and continue to work with the brands. We wish [Hampton] the best and no hard feelings."
Through targeted outreach and social media efforts, Crosby-Volmer is tasked with reinforcing the brand's position as a midscale franchise in the hospitality industry that continues to expand domestically and internationally.
Cohn & Wolfe will continue to handle Hampton Hotels' consumer PR.
