Technorati is releasing its annual "State of the Blogosphere" report bit by bit over the next few days. The first day's data reveals that 72% of bloggers identify themselves as "hobbyists" or those who blog just for the fun of it, rather than a paycheck.
Another 15% blog part-time to supplement their income, while just 4% blog full-time for a company or organization.
No matter why they do it, though, this group is overwhelmingly male, well-educated, and affluent.
