NEW HAVEN, CT: Yale University has named Tom Mattia as chief communications officer and special adviser to the school's president, Richard Levin. Mattia, 60, retired from his position as head of Coca-Cola's communications and public affairs department earlier this year. He joins Yale on November 1 where he will oversee public affairs and coordinate all communications for the university. Mattia reports to VP and secretary Linda Lorimer.
