Tiger Woods is in the midst of a PR controversy, after his involvement in a single-car crash at 2:30am on November 27 and his subsequent hiding from the media—and the cops. After his accident, Woods issued a statement on his Web site saying, "This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me…This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way."

PR pros across the country are advising the golfer to make a more substantive statement, which would clear up rumors of infidelity and domestic violence. Others in the media are insisting that Woods doesn't need to explain his personal life and that the media and public should leave the Woods family alone.
