WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama said December 2 he would nominate Douglas Wilson as the assistant secretary of defense for public affairs at the Department of Defense. Wilson, currently an EVP at The Howard Gilman Foundation, has previous Defense Dept. experience. He served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs from 1997 to 1999 and as the principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs in 2000.
