Facebook is set to roll out new privacy controls to its 350 million members, allowing users to choose exactly who their posts, photos and videos will be shared with. Members can select from options of friends, friends of friends, everyone and customized.

From The Wall Street Journal:

The customized options will allow you to create Friends Lists so that you can share baby photos with family, inappropriate YouTube videos with just your college buddies, and your promotion news with your business friends. Facebook is also simplifying its privacy settings to make them less confusing in general.

Some critics of the new option point to the "everyone" choice, which will allow the information to become indexed outside of Facebook and picked up by third-party search engines without privacy limitations.
