It's been a newsworthy week for the marketing and media trades.
Nielsen announced that it was selling eight of its brands, including Adweek, Mediaweek, Backstage, Billboard, and the Hollywood Reporter, and closing Editor & Publisher and the Kirkus Reviews. The buyers are Puribus Capital Management and Guggenheim Partners.
Crain Communications said that Jonah Bloom, executive editor, and Matthew Creamer, a senior editor, were leaving Advertising Age to work for Breaking Media, a publisher of blogs like DealBreaker and Above The Law. (Both Bloom and Cream were past staffers at PRWeek; Bloom was editor-in-chief before joining AdAge in 2002.)
Abbey Klaasen, digital editor, was named executive editor.
