MILPITAS, CA: SanDisk is reviewing agencies to consolidate its consumer PR function.

Currently, SanDisk divides its consumer and retail business between Cohn & Wolfe and Lyman PR, said a source familiar with review. The review process is closed and a decision is expected in early 2010, the source said.

Ryan Donovan, senior director of corporate communications at SanDisk, declined comment, as did representatives with C&W. Chris Lyman, a principal at Lyman PR, said the agency was invited to pitch the business but declined. Lyman continues to work on SanDisk's b-to-b business.

Another source familiar with the review said C&W is participating in the pitch.

Earlier this year, SanDisk, best known for its flash memory technology, awarded Hill & Knowlton a mid-six-figure contract as its corporate AOR. This business was previously held by C&W. Donovan joined SanDisk last year from Hewlett-Packard, where he worked with H&K and C&W. He previously worked for Text 100.

Since joining SanDisk, Donovan has reorganized the company's global agency relationships. In January, SanDisk awarded Text 100 its EMEA business, in addition to consolidating its Asia-Pacific business with the agency.
