The New York City Department of Health released an online video this week that shows a man drinking a glass of what is supposed to be fat as part of a larger effort to encourage consumers to drink less of sugary drinks and sodas. It builds on the city's ongoing anti-obesity campaign that included print ads in the subway.

The main message that the health department is trying to get across is that drinking a can of soda a day can cause 10 pounds in weight gain a year. News reports are saying that the ads are directly aimed at Pepsi and Coca-Cola.

The video was posted to YouTube, as well as the department's Web site and Facebook page.
