BETHESDA, MD: The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases hired the American Institutes for Research to support its office of communications and government relations, according to a federal database.

BETHESDA, MD: The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases hired the American Institutes for Research to support its office of communications and government relations, according to a federal database.

Communications responsibilities include strategic planning, media relations, and online communications. The budget has a first-year budget of $1.96 million and has four option years. Other interested vendors were listed as Porter Novelli and JVR Communications.

The bulk of the work is communications and the American Institutes for Research is the incumbent, said Don Mullins, the firm's project director.
