The US Dept. of Health and Human Services plans to reveal a new H1NI flu vaccination PSA this week. Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, along with members of the CDC, will announce the new effort at a press conference today, December 31, at noon.

The ad will air on TV during four college football bowl games set for the New Year's holiday. Also, an online video will appear on YouTube and on the agency's flu education Web site, www.Flu.gov. It features Sebelius receiving the vaccine and “urging Americans to do the same,” HHS said.

While the threat of Swine Flu in the US seems somewhat diminished, the administration is pressing ahead with its communications effort in order to thwart a third wave of the so-called "swine flu."

Sebelius and Education Secretary Arne Duncan approached the college leadership to request that the PSAs air during the games. They also asked that H1N1 information, including prevention tactics, be distributed over the PA system during games.
