It seems that GlaxoSmithKline, makers of weight loss drug Alli, plans to finance a documentary about eating, with hopes to recreate "An Inconvenient Truth" and the impact it had on the environmental debate with the public.
The film will reportedly not include mention of Alli.
The nonprofit Creative Coalition behind the documentary is already under scrutiny but Robin Bronk, executive director of the coalition, says: "It's reverse product placement. It's issue placement. It's organic for us. We're using filmmaking to promote a film message. Art influences. Look at Al Gore; he could not move the needle on global warming until he went Hollywood. And he was the vice president."
