A Google spokesperson told me this week "because the phone is exclusively sold online, our marketing plan will heavily focus on online marketing to educate users on the benefits of the phone and the new way of buying it." She added, the company is using "a broad range of Google online and advertising tools" to target and measure the campaign.

Mobile analytics firm Flurry estimates Google sold 20,000 Nexus Ones in its first week of sales.
