SACRAMENTO: Porter Novelli plans to close its Sacramento office on January 29, Kiki McLean, the agency's global head of public affairs, confirmed. McLean said the agency opted to close the office after losing several key staffers, in addition to some other business considerations.
Yesterday Edelman announced it had hired Kevin Slagle and Tom Knox, both former PN employees, for its Sacramento office. McLean declined to say if Slagle and Knox's departure prompted the closure. She also would not disclose the number of staff in the Sacramento office, but told the Sacramento Business Journal earlier this month that the staff was around “five or six” people.
McLean did not name PN's clients in Sacramento, but said they will no longer work with the agency.
“Sacramento is a terrific market,” she said. “Public affairs is a particular strength that we have. So we will revisit this market in the future.”
