NEW YORK: A WestGlen Communications campaign is offering nonprofits a chance to air public service announcements (PSA) via satellite feed free of charge. The “Give Back” campaign is aimed at organizations looking to increase donors, with the agency committing to conduct complimentary 15-minute feeds once a week throughout March.
The campaign originated in 2009, when the New York-based agency was looking for a way to reach out to groups that were experiencing tough budget cuts. It plans to make it an annual initiative, said Annette Minkalis, EVP at WestGlen.
“This is a way for nonprofits to get a message out at no cost,” Minkalis said. “We're not trying to take away from a one-on-one PR approach, like reaching out directly to a television station. We're just providing another option for those who may be struggling to get word out on their group.”
The company connected with clients in early January through an e-mail blast to encourage participation. WestGlen will be accepting video submissions from interested nonprofits now through February 19.
