MySpace chief executive Owen Van Natta stepped down yesterday, after less than 10 months on the job. He joined the News Corp-owned social network from its fiercest competitor, Facebook, last April to reverse the site's falling engagement.
MySpace has been struggling to redefine its brand. For instance, last year it enlisted Weber Shandwick to help tell its innovation story and to do more entertainment events and branded Web series. Also last year, MySpace changed much of its executive leadership and cut about 30% of its workforce across the company.
No word yet on Van Natta's replacement.
