SAN FRANCISCO: Scott Gulbransen, senior manager for PR/social media at Intuit, will leave the company to join Sony Online Entertainment as senior director of global communications and PR, he confirmed to PRWeek. He will join March 5.
Gulbransen, who was with Intuit for nine years, will oversee product PR for the online games, as well as manage communications for the overall brand, and an internal PR team of four. Currently SOE works with PR consultants and agencies on a project basis. The global task will also include work in Asia, he noted.
Gulbransen will report into SOE's head of global marketing, Laura Naviaux, who is currently on maternity leave. During the interim, Gulbransen said will report directly to the company president, John Smedley.
Gulbransen most recently handled PR for Intuit's Turbo Tax business. SOE is known for multiplayer online video games, like EverQuest, EverQuest II, and DC Online Universe.
