NEW YORK: IBM hired Ben Edwards as VP of digital strategy and development, effective March 15. Edwards returns to IBM after three years as publisher of The Economist online and EVP at The Economist Group, and will report to John Kennedy, IBM's worldwide head of marketing. In his new role, Edwards will lead digital marketing and communications for IBM, including overseeing Web, mobile, and social media. Prior to working at The Economist Group, Edwards served as director of new media communications for IBM.
