NEW YORK: The New York Times Co. has named Bob Christie SVP of corporate communications, reporting to president and CEO Janet Robinson effective March 22. Christie was previously VP of communications at Dow Jones & Co. He replaces Catherine Mathis who left the Times in August for Standard & Poor's.
The news coincides with several senior level shifts at Dow Jones.Last year, after more than a decade with the company, Gary Ginsberg left his News Corp. position as EVP of global marketing and corporate affairs to join Time Warner. At the beginning of March, Bethany Sherman was named Dow Jones' CCO effective March 29, leaving her eight-year post as SVP of corporate communications for Nasdaq.
