NEW YORK: Porter Novelli hired Joseph Landi as EVP and director of New York healthcare, effective March 15. The firm also named Peter Pitts, former director of global healthcare, the global head of regulatory and health policy, and hired former Hill & Knowlton executive Shipra Singh as the head of healthcare for the EMEA region.

The global healthcare position is now vacant, according to an agency spokesperson. Pitts, who continues to report to Julie Winskie, president of the Americas for Porter Novelli, is working with clients in healthcare as well as food, personal care, and consumer packaged goods.

Landi, who closed Landmark Communications to join Porter Novelli, is responsible for the New York healthcare team. He reports to Lisa Rosenberg, partner and MD of the New York office.

The firm hired Barbara DeBuono as its global director of public health and social marketing and chief medical officer in September 2009.
