WALTHAM, MA: MyMediaInfo launched a PR and media application for the iPhone, which provides communicators with access to a database of journalists' contact information from their mobile device.
The release comes one month after a Denmark-based group put out a PR and marketing app of its own, allowing users to track brand and executive mentions.
MyMediaInfo, a service of Massachusetts-based service provider RedEgg Solutions, is an online database where clients can search for journalists by field, publication type, and target audience. The app is available to MyMediaInfo clients and can be downloaded from the iPhone store.
“We filed with Apple a few months ago, and then spent that time building and testing the app,” said Eric Hill, president and co-founder of MyMediaInfo. “It provides real-time access to your database. Maybe you're on the road and you need to pull up a journalist's contact information, then this app can help you.”
MyMediaInfo launched a YouTube tutorial March 21 to promote the app. Hill said data on how many downloads the app has received isn't yet available, though he did say the company plans to produce more apps in the near future.
“This is just the first in a series of apps we plan to roll out over the next 90 days,” Hill said. “We'll be putting out more information on that soon.”
